that I love my cello?
My heart leaps with joy every time I open the case… the rich chocolates & ambers of the wood grain & flaming, the intoxicating smell of the finish & rosin, getting to know its many humidity affected moods, craving its deep voice, as sweet & thick as honey. I am still practicing & improving (according to my teacher, at least!). Not ready for a concert, yet, but I hope that by this fall or early next year I’ll be able to start studying with an ensemble. Give a listen here if you’d like to experience some exquisite cello.
By the way, my cello & looms get along just fine… I think it’s the strings.

I played the cello for a very short while as a child. I hated it then, because it was heavy and bulky for me to haul on the bus to school, but I have regretted many times giving it up. I love the voice of a cello!

What a very cool idea, Jennifer! I have my father's old upright bass, that would be such an interesting thing to do to it.
I just started learning to play last fall, so the whole experience is still quite new. I also have to watch how long I practice because with my fibromyalgia my joints don't do well with too much repetitive motion. But, I love it & just hope to be able to play decently at some point!

Cello???? I picked up the harp at just 4 years ago. It's something I've always wanted to do and finally just did it. I always love sitting down with it also. In fact I've gotten to the point I need to set a kitchen timer to keep from losing complete track of time! I enjoy playing with others - it makes me a better musician. In fact I think it accelerate things. I look forward to hearing about that adventure!
I've wondered about gettin my hands on a defunct harp and weaving in the where the strings are.....
