California Condor #127, woven life size with her 9.5 foot wingspan, soars over the Grand Canyon. Inspired by my 2010 North Rim artist residency, the tapestry honors the courageous and unbelievable odyssey of a magnificent creature rescued from extinction.
This tapestry was gifted to the Peregrine Fund's World Center for Birds of Prey, which is located in Boise, Idaho and is the center for California Condor restoration, in September 2016. It is part of their permanent collection on permanent display in the Velma Morrison Interpretive Center.
