upriver day, vermilion night

diptych (24″ x 18″ each)
A juxtaposition of extremes–Marble Canyon’s flaming walls guide the celadon shimmer of the Colorado River under Navajo Bridge; Orion glitters on the cusp of the Vermilion Cliffs in the indigo evening.
This diptych tapestry was inspired by two small tapestry studies I complete while in residence: upriver day & vermilion night
This artwork was produced under the Artist-In-Park Program after my 2012 residency & is part of the permanent collection at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
