early woven work
The early handwoven tapestries were largely figurative in nature and reflected my desire to represent the plants, animals, landscapes, and culture of the desert. Most were designed from my own photographs or sketches. They were woven using my natural hand dyed wools and commercially dyed wools, cotton, bamboo, hemp, silk, rayon, linen, paper, waxed linen, sea silk, fishing net, silk wrapped steel and other fibers and surface design elements.
